3. What are your business hours?
I’m open for events and sessions all days of the year. For portraits requiring natural light, at least one hour before sunset is recommended. Feel free to reach out to discuss availability.
4. How do I book a session?
Booking a session with Jen Swanson Photography is easy! Simply connect via phone or email, or fill out the online booking form on the website. Once your session details are confirmed, and deposit is made, you’ll receive a contract and invoice to secure your date.
5. Do you offer photography packages?
Yes! We offer customized photography packages to suit your needs. Whether you're looking for a simple headshot session or a full wedding package, we’ll work with you to create a package that fits your vision and budget. Contact us for detailed pricing and package options!
6. How long will it take to receive my photos after the session?
Typically, you can expect to receive your photos from portrait and headshots within a week after the session. Wedding photos may take a little longer (2-4 weeks) due to the volume of images and fine retouching. I work at delivering quality images with a faster delivery rate than most studios. I also send sneak peeks for weddings so you don’t have to wait so long!
7. Is a deposit required for booking?
Yes, a deposit of half the balance is due to secure your date. The full balance is due before the session or event begins. Paying the full balance is always an option to save time later.
8. What should I wear for my photoshoot?
I’m happy to offer guidance on outfit choices for portraits and headshots. Variety is great and I recommend bringing different choices of tops and outer layers.
9. Can I request specific poses or locations for my session?
Absolutely! I love working with you to capture your vision. Feel free to contribute any ideas or inspiration photos for the session, whether it's a specific pose, location, or style you’re going for. I also have great suggestions for local Portland spots.
10. Are you available for destination weddings or events?
Yes, I love traveling for destination weddings or events! I’ve photographed weddings and engagements in various locations, and am always excited to explore new places. Travel fees may apply depending on the distance, so please get in touch for more details and a personalized quote.
11. Do you offer retouching or editing services?
We provide fine retouching as part of our standard service. This includes adjustments like skin smoothing, color correction, and removing distractions. If you have specific retouching requests, such as removing blemishes or altering background details, or adding a Godzilla for instance, we can discuss it :)
12. What is your cancellation and rescheduling policy?
I understand that plans can change! If you need to cancel or reschedule your session, please notify me as soon as possible. For cancellations made within 72 hours of the session, a cancellation fee may apply. For weddings and events, I recommend rescheduling as early as possible to ensure availability on a new date.
13. Do you provide digital files?
Yes, I provide high-resolution digital files with your photo package. You’ll receive access to an online gallery where you can view and download your images. If you would like additional prints or albums, I can assist with finding local printing options.
14. Can I bring my pets to the photoshoot?
Of course! Pets are a part of the family, and we’re happy to include them in your session. Just let me know in advance if you’ll be bringing pets, so I can plan accordingly and ensure the session goes smoothly.
15. What is the best time to book my wedding photographer?
I recommend booking your wedding photographer at least 6-12 months in advance, especially if you're getting married during peak wedding season (spring and summer). This allows you to secure your preferred date.
16. What should I expect during a wedding photography consultation?
During your wedding photography consultation, I’ll take the time to get to know you, your partner, and your vision for your wedding day. Here’s what to expect:
Personalized Discussion: We’ll talk about your wedding details, including the venue, timeline, and style of your celebration. This helps us tailor our approach to capture every important moment.
Package Overview: I’ll walk you through wedding photography packages and help you choose the one that fits your needs. If you have any custom requests, we can discuss those too!
Questions & Answers: This is your time to ask any questions you have about the day, my process, or anything else that’s important to you. I want to make sure you feel completely comfortable and confident about the plan.
